Recycling Center – located at 14th Ave & Barnegat Ave.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
October 1st to March 31st (Mon to Friday) 8am to 3pm. (Sat & Sun) 9am to 2pm.
April 1st to September 30th (8am to 5pm).

SEASIDE PARK & SOUTH SEASIDE PARK RESIDENTS ONLY
Please use the containers with the green OPEN sign on them. We use one container at a time for single stream and one for cardboard. Please do not attempt to unlock a container with a red closed sign on it.
South Seaside Park residents – please use the container marked “Berkeley Township Residents Only”
IMPORTANT! – PLASTIC BAGS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN ANY RECYCLING CONTAINER IN SEASIDE PARK!
Please be aware that items you may recycle in other towns may not be recyclable in Seaside Park.
Recyclable Items Permitted in the Seaside Park Recycling Center
- SINGLE STREAM (Consisting of the following items) Please use the containers to your left when you pull in.
- Plastic containers #1,#2 and #5 (clean – no food residue! UPDATED MATERIALS as of 8/2021)
- Glass bottles and jars (clean – no food residue!)
- Aluminum, tin, and steel cans, clean foil and aluminum food trays – (no food residue! UPDATED MATERIALS as of 8/2021)
- Newspapers, including all comics and advertising inserts, including magazines, catalogs, office and writing paper, junk mail, and envelopes (with or without windows) No shredded paper! (see below)
- Cereal, gift, food, & 6-pack boxes (UPDATED MATERIALS as of 8/2021)
- Brown corrugated cardboard (no styrofoam, plastic or packing!)
- Corrugated cardboard (please flatten all boxes, no styrofoam, plastic or packing materials – use the containers on your right when you pull in)
- Telephone Books (Place in blue barrel next to shed)
- Shredded Paper (Place bagged in white shredded paper bin next to shed)
- Batteries (Rechargeable Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Li-Ion, Ni-Zn, small Pb and Auto only!) – Common alkaline batteries such as AAA, AA, C, D, and 9V may be disposed of in your regular trash.
- Oil filters, motor oil and anti-freeze (in sealed containers only) Do not dump!
- Computers, monitors, VCR’s, DVD players, printers, radios, laptop computers, telephone systems. Drop off at the Recycling Center or call DPW at 732-250-7560 to schedule a free separate collection.
- Retired American Flags – please use the old blue mailbox next to the shed.
- Salvation Army Clothing Deposit Box
- D.A.R.E Clothing Deposit Box
- Free recycled wood mulch and leaf compost (when available)
Non-Recyclable Items
The following items are NOT recyclable at the Seaside Park Recycling Center:
- NO Plastic bags or plastic film (please bring clean empty bags to your nearest grocery store, Walmart or Kohls)
- NO Scrap aluminum, wood, siding (scrap metal can be scheduled for pickup, call 732-250-7560 for info)
- NO Coat hangers
- NO Window glass
- NO Candles
- NO Light bulbs
- NO Pool covers
- NO Boat Shrink Wrap (See here for recycling locations)
- NO Toys
- NO Pesticides/herbicide containers
- NO Medical supplies
- NO Paint cans (see below)
- NO Ice cream pails
- NO Solvents, paints and adhesives
- NO Pots & pans
- NO Flower pots and garden plastics
- NO Auto product containers (oil, antifreeze, etc.)
- NO Gable top containers (milk and juice)
- NO Stryrofoam/packing materials.
Paint Cans (DPW Drop Off ONLY)
Residents of Ocean County may drop off unused paint and empty paint cans at the Public Works Department building, located at 1201 Barnegat Avenue, Seaside Park NJ 08752, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday ONLY. Please call 732-250-7560 to schedule a drop off. Paint will not be accepted from businesses such as paint contractors. This program is for latex, oil, and boat paint only. NO stains, wood preservatives or any other hazardous waste. DO NOT BRING PAINT OR PAINT CANS TO THE RECYCLING YARD! No other materials are accepted. Paint only!
The Ocean County Department of Solid Waste sponsors Household hazardous waste events for other hazardous items such as stains, pesticides, pool chemicals, etc. DO NOT BRING TO THE RECYCLING CENTER!
