Part-Time Tax Assessor

Borough of Seaside Park Is seeking a part-time tax assessor to perform all statutory duties, including maintaining tax records, inspections, tax appeals, and valuations. The individual will answer inquiries from the public and provide tax assessment information. Perform tasks related to the assessment of real property in regards to tax exemption and deduction statutes. Handles appeals and may provide testimony before county board of taxation, Tax Court, etc. Borough is approximately $2.38 billion in ratables with approximately 4,730-line items. Bachelor’s Degree or experience in real estate/ property tax assessment required. A minimum of three years’ experience as a tax assessor, or equivalent preferred. Must have valid Tax Assessor Certificate issued by the State of New Jersey. Experience with BRT required. Salary range for P/T is $22,000 to $30,000. A valid New Jersey driver’s license is required.
