Wall of Seaside Park Mayors Unveiling Ceremony - August 6th
The Seaside Park Historical Society and the Borough of Seaside Park present the Mayor Delaney Wall of Seaside Park Mayors.
Mayor Joseph J. Delaney was the longest serving mayor in Seaside Park history, and as such, the Seaside Park Historical Society felt it only right to dedicate the Wall of Seaside Park Mayors, in his honor. In 1958, Mayor Delaney began his service to the Borough Council when he was nominated to fill a vacancy. Mayor Delaney served on Council until 1962, when, as Council President, he filled the mayoral vacancy caused by the unfortunate passing of Mayor Villani. Mayor Delaney served with distinction as Seaside Park’s mayor until 1983. During his 22 years as mayor, Mayor Delaney carefully guided, and helped to preserve Seaside Park, through devastating storms and the reconstruction process, while planning and implementing infrastructure of our beautiful community. Mayor Delaney’s Administration and Seaside Park’s 75th Anniversary Committee helped celebrate that milestone in the town’s history in 1973. We thank the late Mayor Delaney and his family, and recognize his positive, lasting impact upon the great legacy of the “Family Resort” of Seaside Park.
The Unveiling Ceremony will be taking place on Thursday, August 6th, 2026, 6:00pm at Council Chambers, prior to the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayor and Borough Council. We hope you can join us to celebrate this monument to Seaside Park's History.
