Cranberry Inlet Skirmishes: Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom - Friday, September 25th

The Seaside Park and Seaside Heights Historical Societies invite you to a special event recognizing the historical Cranberry Inlet Skirmishes. The Cranberry Inlet was a vital, temporary opening between the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay, active from roughly 1740 to 1812. During the American Revolutionary War, it served as a strategic haven for American privateers and whaleboat fighters, triggering multiple naval skirmishes, British retaliatory raids, and saltworks destruction in the Toms River region.

This event will take place on Friday, September 25th, beginning at 11:00am at the Hugh J. Boyd, Jr. Elementary School, located at 1200 Bay Boulevard, Seaside Heights, NJ 08751.
